Prevention Against Domestic Violence 101

An information gap exists in the education of women who need prevention against Domestic Violence

Many "at risk" women need help in understanding Domestic Violence.

Effective services to "at risk" women is imperative.

  • Forty-three percent of imprisoned women surveyed by the Bureau of Justice, reported they had been abused at least once" before their current admission to prison.
  • 75% of all female murder victims are killed by their partners or ex-partners.
  • Many abused women self medicate with alcohol and drugs
  • Two-thirds of women in prison have at least one child under 18

Women's imprisonment is at a historic high.

As a nation, we face only one choice. We must invest in programs designed to meet the needs of "at risk" women and the lives their children. Our country needs to invest in the challenge of getting educational services to help women about Domestic Violence.

The goal of these workshops are to provide prevention/education to:

Alcohol and drug treatment centers, domestic violence training settings, battered women's shelters, halfway houses, women in prison, and paroled women.
