  • 2-4 million women are physically battered each year by partners.
  • In a New York study of 50 battered women employees, 75% said they had been harassed by the batterer when they were at work, 50% reported missing an average of three days per month, and 44% lost at least one job for reasons directly related to the abuse.
  • Homicide, by current or former husbands/boyfriends, is the most frequent manner in which women workers are fatally injured at work.
  • The Bureau of National Affairs estimated that because of Domestic Violence, American business loses a total of $3 to 5 billion a year from increased health care expenses.
